Lego Creator - Classic Volkswagen Camper Van

The Volkswagen Campervan Lego Creator set is one of the coolest Lego sets available.  No Lego Vanagon model yet.  Maybe Lego could issue an Island Hoppers Lego Vanagon from Magnum P.I. This VW Lego replica can be found at Lego or on Amazon.  I would assume this is for a limited time.

Vanagon Wheel Options

There are many aftermarket Vanagon wheel options. The two most popular (based on numerous Flickr searches) are the Mercedes Replica 8 hole wheel and South African Rhein Vanagon wheels.   Both wheels are available in 15" and 16" sizes from your favorite Vanagon shop or classified site.  The Porsche B32 Carrera Vanagon featured the classic 911 Porsche Fuchs wheels.

Can They Be Friends?

It's always perceived that the Eurovan was smaller than the Vanagon. While both are classified ironically as Mini-Vans, the Eurovan is larger (not by much) in some measurements.

An expensive (carbon fiber) but very creative solution to creating a boom pole for a GoPro Camera. Makes me feel like a kite!

Vanagon Exhaust - Stock vs Stainless Steel

Photo comparison of new stainless VW exhaust vs the old rusty looking exhaust.

Upgrade VW Vanagon Exhaust

Upgraded the old Vanagon exhaust system and catalytic converter to a lighter, stainless steel system. The sound is completely different in real life, may not appear that way on camera audio. Visually, a huge improvement, no more rusty and cracked exhaust pipes.

Porsche Powered B32 VW Vanagon

The B32 Vanagon was created and utilized by Porsche in the mid 1980's as a racing support vehicle for the Paris to Dakar Rally.   Only 11 Volkswagen B32 Carrera Transporter's were built by the Porsche factory.

The factory conversion for the B32 Vanagon included a 911 Carrera 230 hp, 3.2 liter flat 6 cylinder capable of a 130 mph top speed, upgraded suspension, brakes, leather interior, and Carrera wheels.

A while back, a B32 Vanagon showed up for auction on Ebay, who knows where the remaining original 10 Porsche Powered B32's are and how valuable they might be.
